For a long time scholars worldwide have researched on Tibet and Himalayan ancient cultures and traditions. In the 21st century scholars are showing more interest in the Bon religion, cultural history and its traditions. They found through their research and studies about the Zhang Zhung civilization that BON is the root of Tibetan culture and tradition.  Moreover, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama announced publicly, several times, that “The Bon is native religion and indigenous culture of TIBET, therefore it is important to preserve and protect it for future regeneration.”
Many scholars and Bon practitioners are spending a lot of time and money to learn about Bon.  Unfortunately, it seems the poorer people are facing more difficulties obtaining this traditional education.
However, there is a very Nobel person, His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin Rinpoche, who is playing the most important role to preserve and promote this native Tibetan Bon religion and tradition. He established the Bon Children Welfare Center in 1969 AD for orphans, semi-orphans, destitute and homeless children to achieve an opportunity for superior modern education and the Bon teachings.
Our children are providing with shelter, food, good education system and spiritual environment to prepare themselves for the better tomorrow‘s living Bonpos and contribute to the world peace through Bon.
Establishment of BCWC is not so difficult then its sustainability, one person can initiate a projects, but it needs comprehensive support and efforts of many people for its continuous growth.
More than four decades long, His Holiness had significant contributors, many good friends and associations assisted in sustaining the BCWC. His Holiness has never turned away from growing of every single child and development of BCWC. There is still requiring of help and supports from individual friends and associations to full filled the needs and challenges of the children and BCWC.
This edition, “Voices of Menri Children” is way to share the activities, results and impact assessments on BCWC from our supporters for their kindness and generous help, the children showed their skills in the form of essay compositions, poems and their feelings. We also hope to promote more friends, supporters and sponsors through shared information in this journal.
